Did you know that your body does not like change? The way you are now it recognizes as being your status quo. If you make any sudden changes – to your diet, for example – it will more than likely do its best to work against this change because it sees it as a change to your status quo.

If you go on a diet program which is restrictive or too severe it will have the same effect. It will see it as a challenge to your status quo. This is why it’s important that you do things gradually so that you don’t get and negative reaction from your body.

Some diet regimes distort your normal patterns. Your body doesn’t like this. Successful weight reduction comes from introducing any change in a gradual or natural manner. Only eating low-fat foods, is a distortion. Only eating low carb foods, is a distortion. The Atkins regime, is a distortion. This is why this sort weight loss program can only be tolerated for a limited period. Distortions cause problems. What you need for long-term weight reduction is a program that will support you for a long time. Too many weight loss programs leave you high and dry with no support.

Natural weight loss is all about discovering balance. Once you understand the bad habits that caused you to become overweight, then you are going to be far better equipped to be able to determine what changes you need to make.
